Thanks for the update, Rob. Hope to go myself early Feb, will visit the Mercadona! Is it too far to walk? It would help with lettings if people didn't HAVE to have a car to get basic supplies. Maybe someone should start a mobile shop in a van business.

English supermarket will open one day, saw the people there, must be the same ole delays in Spain
No word from guy who might buy apts in ur complex !!

Had a wonderful few days in the SUN!
English "Stop and Buy" (what an awful name) supermarket was fully stocked as far as I could see peering through the grilles, but windows still covered with paper. Mercadona a really useful addition to the area, seemed cheaper than the (big) Supersol in Sabinillas and not as far as Carrefour. The homes/lettings shop says temporarily closed but as all the light fittings have been ripped out it looks pretty permanent.

Hiya Liz
At least they have filled the shelves, maybe its soon to open, i think they will get a good trade even though mercodona is up the road..as everyone can just walk down or pop over road..
I have a long term rental so wont be over for at least the next 11 months, unless i rent on complex..
Cheers

Hi Andrew and Nicky 1, we'll have to try to keep this exchange going! Like Rob, I try to keep an eye on the Costa Galera forums as well as La Galera Park (where I have a place) as we are all interested in the same surrounding area.
Look forward to reading your posts.
Cheers, Liz

Hi all
Liz have there been any break ins, in your complex, i have now security cameras at end of next doors garden and people have been putting up security windows and doors..
I asked our community liason guy Gumar and got this reply to my question.
Q.. Security cameras have been placed at the end of my next door neighbours
garden and they have placed iron gates around there property, can you
tell have there been attempted breakins in some apts in my block.
Reply..
people are stealing in the other complex, with the cameras we want to avoid problems
Regards
Rob

I haven't heard of any so far, except a "walk in" to lift a purse when owners were upstairs. All our houses have electric shutters to close over most of the windows and most people put bars on the windows with no shutters. Fingers crossed...
