HI, article 5, section 1 is what the Portugese police had to have made clear to them when the Portugese gov. started cracking down the year before last & the police started impounding Spanish healthworkers cars ( 10% of the staff are Spanish nationals a lot of whom travel across the border to work ). In your 1st post i'll concede the point re ;From the UK out OF country for up to 12 mths, but you still have the problem that the Spanish & the UK state that if it's in the country for over 6 mths it requires re-registering & it's up to you to prove it hasn't been there longer. You'd probably get away with it here but in the UK with the computers in every police car it's far harder. Then again more Spanish regions are getting APNR equipped cars as they get changed. We've got 1 here now. Just the 1 , for the whole Murcian region, but you can see the way it's going.
