Car Parking Options at Malaga Airport

Can any of you friendly people help/advise on the best and cheapest parking options at Malaga Airport/nearby etc. now that the Free Parking at P3 has stopped due to the opening of the new Terminal.

We travel to the U.K. 8/9 times a year on Business and the Free Parking at P3 was excellent i.e. park the car on the kerbside, pick up the Free Shuttle Bus to Departures and vice versa when coming home. Bliss!

Now our options are get driven to the Airport and some people want Euros80.00 each way (to and from the Airport) or get the Bus from Malaga Airport to Malaga Town Bus Station then a Bus to Estepona Bus Station. Whilst the total cost is much cheaper i.e. Euros18.00  (and, of course, this would be doubled if we did the reverse journey when getting to Malaga Airport) - or Euros 36.00 both ways the journey time is around 3 hours+ as opposed to the 1 hour by car and also we had to get home from Estepona Bus Station dragging Cases along.

Another factor is that sometimes we travel without having booked our flight back home here as Business generally dictates when we come back.

So you can see our dilemna and we are not prepared to park the Car at Malaga Airport itself as the cost is very high.

We would appreciate any help/suggestions on what to do next.

If you google long term parking at Malaga airport, you'll come up with a few options, such as this and this and some other results.

Most of the places on the right as you approach the airport provide long term parking (few days/few weeks), although the rates can differ.

Have you thought of looking at some of the smaller stations on the Malaga airport to Fuengirola line. For example it takes around 20 mins to get from Torremuelle station to Malaga, and only costs a couple of Euros. I don't know if the station parking is free, but there must be plenty of local free parking. I'm not sure about parking at the stations in between, but could be worth looking at. You have: San Julia, Plaza Mayor, Los Alamos, La Colina, Torremolinos, etc. Found this link that suggests La Colina has parking and is only a few minutes from the aiport;
