The Comments |
We have just bought a car to use in spain, it is already registered in spain but we are not sure what is the procedure about MOT and Tax, how do we tell if it is already MOTd and Taxed. Also what documents do we require and how do we go about getting them.

You should have a 1) Permiso de circulación = reg. document with details of last owner, address, vehicle details etc; 2) An Inspección Tecnica de vehículos = mot document showing vehicle details ,date of last testing & date next test due. Both are green in colour ,A5 size normally folded in half. On the vehicle their should be a sticker on the windscreen showing a year date i.e. 09. 10. 12 etc; which is the date the test is due next & @ the top of the sticker the numbers 1 to 12 which are the months of that year & the month the test is due will be punched out. If you bought the car from someone who owned it in Spain they should have given you the last car tax receipt. If you pay your car tax here through the bank by D/debit it's just a bank receipt, if you pay it when you receive the payment form from the council ,or go in the council & get it ,t hen it's an A4 sheet stamped by a bank as payment made.
