I've been speaking to a couple who are absolutely desperate to get back to UK next week early next week.
Anyone any ideas on drive/boat options?
Are the boats all booked up at the moment if you drive and trying boarding as foot passenger etc.

Where are they, Faro? By chance ...in the Torrevieja area, Costa Blanca? If so there's coaches being organised to get people to Northern Spain and France.
I searched your posts as you don't say here which area you are in when in Spain. From some of your other posts I think you're talking about the CDS ..Malaga area .. so what I'm saying is of no use to you but maybe others will be helped by it.

Hi Morerosado
My wife and daughter are quite near Torrevieja and can't get home to the UK. Can you tell me how I can find details of the buses being organised to France etc.?
Thanks
Jim

Hi Jim, I saw it here .. read thread which has grown since I posted earlier. You will see that member 'orange' (Alan who owns http://www.clydegrovegolf.com/) has posted that he is himself stuck in Glasgow, unable to return to Torrevieja by air. I shall copy his post so it is understood rather than me harp on further.

Hi Everyone
I am stuck in Glasgow, came over for a funeral last week and like everyone else can't get back by air.
Firstly to answer a few of the questions being asked.
There are 2 types of licensed coach companies NATIONAL and INTERNATIONAL.
National licensed can only operate within the boundries of the country they are licensed.
International can operate anywhere within the EU.
My own company (banner above) is licensed for National transport and cannot legally transport passengers beyond the Spanish border.
As we have many clients we have transfered in Spain looking to return to the UK and other EU countries we have contacted some local coach companies (costa blanca) who hold an International license however the time scale for making arrangements and the fact that many seem to be looking to benefit from others mis-fortune with extortunate prices has left us in the position of not wishing to be associated with what could affect our long term business plans and reputation (being seen as cashing in or benefiting).
Personally, I am making arrangements to travel by rail over the next few days from Glasgow to Alicante and would suggest that those who are stuck in Spain should do the same.
Average price from London to Alicante is around 330 pounds with only 2 train changes including Eurostar, would assume it would around the same for returning to the UK.
Looking at what is happening and very little hope of air travelling resuming over the next week or so I would advise those stuck in Spain to just jump on a train and make your way north to the ferry ports.
Good luck
Alan

Hi
So here we are trapped (I thought I was on holiday) in Spain and having had our Saturday flights cancelled and rescheduled for Thursday we are still unsure whether or when we will be getting home, BUT the issue a few of us have is regarding our ever decreasing medication supplies, Insulin, Heart tablets etc.. so how good are the medical centres here should I head down to the Campomoar medical centre first thing Monday morning and take a list of meds needed (one of us needs insulin, needles, syringes or pen plus statins and blood testing stuff) with E111 (I know it's called something else now) and expect to get all I need and at what cost or am I expecting too much from the medical centre and therefore should we start to hitch hike now ??????????????????
Help of any sort would be appreciated, especially from those of you that really know what you are talking about.
Cheers, more Sangrai please, well at least until the insulin runs out

Hi Scrufty you should be able to obtain prescriptions for your medication at the medical centre,as long as you can explain that you are stuck here & are running out. You will have to pay for them but if you obtain a receipt I understand you can claim it back from your local health authority. Most medicines are cheaper here in Spain. I only paid 0,55cents for Pravastatina last week. 2 boxes of 20 tablets on prescription.

Higginsdiscokid, please put this on thread & don't ask ME! How do I know?
I'm surprised you got to my private messages as Justin, the site owner, doesn't allow that till you have made around 10 posts, I understood... Seems to me you are really wanting to cash in on the situation. We, ourselves, could offer two seats to go to Bristol for 1000€ each person &, no doubt, there would be many who would pay it.
This is your 1st post, shame you abused the situation.

I have seen on Channel 5 news that some people are being told that available flights may not be until June or July . If anyone is stranded at Almeria (about 60kms) or Murcia (about 100km) airports and wants accommodation, let me know as our apartment may well be free until mid May if I can't get out on Friday. No charge, just payment of the cleaning fee we are charged and a contribution towards electric. PM me.

This may be too late for the Dublin lads but I saw the following on the RTE website:
Bus leaving Sunset Beach. Benelmadena on Wed Morn 21st April at 10 am. Bus going all the way up to Calais then to Dover, from Holyhead to Dublin . Total cost inc Ferrry is €190 pp. The bus has been arranged by the Irish Club Marbella.
Contact Finola on 607340523
finola@irishclubmarbella.
The bus may be filled by this.
All the best.
