It's a big country - what part?

What size of vehicle?

What's the budget?

Automatic's are not that common in Spain and automatic diesels even less so.

In Spain automatic equals executive car ie top of the range which means automatics tends not to be available in the basic end of the range so pushes the price up.

The choice of models/options in Spain is less than in the UK or other parts of the world.

There are one or two garages specialise in selling autos (due to foreign demand) and other than that maybe ex-lease or maybe german import or of course private.

If it's Costa del Sol then I can give you details but elsewhere I have no idea!

Hi

I think the fiesta do a diesel auto version but finding any 2nd hand diesel automatic is a nightmare.

It took us months to find one and most seem to be  BMW or Mercedes. As we fetch all sorts of stuff in the cars I would not let OH spend that sort of money. We eventually bought a Focus Cmax from a garage in San Miguel de Salinas.

You coukd try looking in the free newspapers that carry ads for 2nd hand dealers. Most can be read online.

other point is Spain is a hilly country and also you need to enter the dual carriageway/motorway at the same speed a formula one car comes out of the pit lane and small autos can be a little unresponsive (even for overtaking) and add a small diesel engine and you could really be struggling. But some diesels are quite good these days. On the economy front it makes good sense.

All my cars (3) are automatics but all petrol. I tried to find a diesel auto recently and couldn't without buying new and top of the range - that was when I discovered Spain has less options than UK cars.

Then I was offered an ex-lease car at a good price so I took it. They come in immaculate condition.
