Batteries!

Not the normal AA, AAA, C and D.... I mean the odd ones!!!

For example:

Where can I get an L1028 23A 12V battery in Manilva area?

It's the type of battery they use in the cordless bell push from cordless door chimes in the UK.

I know exactly where to get one where I used to live in North Devon, but that doesn't help me here in Spain (and I was in the UK a few weeks ago.. grrrr!!!!!)

I need one for my garage remote.

Colin...

Carrefour have started carrying some of the more obscure battery types; also amazon uk have the specific type you refer to.

Might I suggest also some of the car accessory places may stock this item since it is used quite extensively in the automotive field.

Hi Fb,

I've tried those places... other than Amazon, as I really need to get it sooner rather than later!

I could always ask a family member to buy one... or thee... and then post them to me, but I'd rather find somewhere local... especially as I need it... like yesterday!!!!

Hi

Your bound to get them in Gibraltar, there are quite a few electrical shops, Sherrifs ( under water gardens) and a couple of other hardware shops in the same area.

Good luck

Hi Twinnie,

Have tried a couple of places in Gib, including Morrison's, but no luck yet!

A mate of mine has just sent me a text and told me there is a Motor Factors type of shop in Gib, so will try there.

Could be!

Didn't think about Ebay Spain.

I'm going to Gib tomorrow anyway so will try that shop I've been told about, but just can't understand why I can't find it in a shop in Spain?!?!?!?!

Must be available somewhere local, will persevere.

Just a quick update....

I found what I wanted in Mercadona near Estepona.

Of all the places I thought of looking, I never thought of looking there and only saw the battery in question by mere chance, as there was a display of batteries on the till we were queuing at!

It's a Duracell MN21, aka A32, K32A, LRV08 and cost 1.90€ each, cheaper than they were in the UK!
