Online check in Ryanair

We are flying out to Spain next week, on the Ryanair website it states;

Passenger can check-in online for one of both of their flights from 15 days prior up to 4 hours before the scheduled flight departure times on www.ryanair.com.

The duration of our stay is 16 days, we were able to print off the outbound boarding passes but it will not allow us to print off the return passes, we tried to phone customer services but without success.

Ryanair state that there will be a £40 charge per boarding pass if you can't produce them !

In the past our holidays have been for 14 days or less and we have always been able to print off both passes, we would appreciate any information or experiences you may have had.

It normally lets you print off your outward and inward passes if the date of travel is less than 14 days away.  I have sometimes had the glitch when it won't let me print out the return boarding passes as it is too far away.  Leave it until a few days before your outward journey and try to reprint.  Go through the same process as booking in online and then either print or reprint return boarding passes.

However, all  is not lost if it won't let you do it.  There are plenty of internet cafes in Spain where you can print them off during your holiday.  You just need your booking reference and the internet address you used when booking.  Internet cafes will charge you about 1 to 2 euros to use their facilities and print off the return boarding passes so don't bother yourself too much over it.

You can't print your return boarding pass until you are within the 15 days of flying back. That means you have 2 options

1. Do what we do. Go to an internet cafe while you are away and do it from there (it's easy on Ryanairs web site - I think you just go to 'manage my booking' - make sure you have your booking details with you. If you know anyone who has internet access, or are staying in a larger hotel, you may be able to do  there instead.

2. Pay a fortune at the airport upon your return - no good.

For interest, BMI Baby have an even shorter time in which you can check in on line (it used to be 4 days prior, which was useless as most people go for longer).

Well, going to a cybercafe will cost less than a euro for the use of the PC and a euro or two for the print-outs and it's no hassle at all. How much do you charge for your service?

And I sneaked a look after your post eggcup and the answer was - quite a bit compared to going to an internet shop and doing it yourself!!!     Surely nobody would need such a service - though I do wish any new business venture well, I just cannot see the market for this one.

To be honest this happens all of the time wth our customers and all we do is print them off for people, no charge, most keyholders will have a printer and should be happy to do this for their renters, all part of a service, probably done this at least 20 times last year

You can also do this at a shop on Camposol but I have also seen a local company that charges €5 for boarding pass printed, nice little earner

If you have a keyholder just have a word with them as you can save the document as a PDF and mail it for printing

By reserving your seats you can book in in both directions the same happens with 7 days you have to check in on the day you are flying. Yhis is another Ryanair scam. Alternative is find internet Cafe.

Don't use it myself but I see a lot of folk downloading their boarding pass onto their mobile phones.  Isn't this an alternative?  Certainly EasyJet are happy with this format.

I don't know, but do RyanAr want to see a bit of paper?  Perhaps you cannot download their boarding pass -   I never use them myself, even if the published fare is a bit cheaper.

I know it's an old post but:

Ryanair do let you download your boarding pass onto smart phone, tablet or whatever. It's some airports that don't have the facilities to accept them, not the airline.They have a list on their website of which airports don't accept them.

There's an app for it.

I would strongly recommend that people don't download onto a phone, tablet, or other device except as a back up to the paper copy. What if something goes wrong with your device and you cannot access it? (Battery runs out or it doesn't work).

You would then have to check in at the desk and pay all the extra fees.

I have used the Ryanair app on my iPhone and it works brilliantly, you can even download the boarding passes into Passbook.  No problems with East Midlands, Manchester or Malaga airports accepting boarding passes on the phone screen.  Also use the Easyjet app with no problems, all you need is internet access without the hassle of printing.

Easyjet will print off your boarding card at the airport and there's no charge.

Ryanair know that people on a fortnight's holiday aren't going to be arsed finding somewhere to print off a return flight.

they know you will probably print off your own card for the outward journey and buy an allocated seat for the return which allows you to print off a month in advance

And it's 7 days before flight if you want a free allocated seat. Just checked in today for next Saturday flight, can't check in for the return until 18th (return 25th). Just downloaded the boarding pass to the Ryanair app, so will be using that.
