We are soon to be the proud owners of a lovely British Blue boy kitten.

Like expectant parents, we have been preparing for the big day, buying all sorts of things to make the little chap feel happy and comfortable in his new environment!

At five months he will be having the dreaded neutering!!

Like doctors for humans, there are vets., allegedly, that suit some people and maybe, not others.

Firstly, can anyone recommend a vet. in the San Javier, San Pedro del Pinatar or Los Alcazares areas, that they have had good experiences with and secondly, does anyone know if it would be possible to make an appointment, wait until the op. is done and bring the kitten home the same day?

Thanks in advance for any help anyone can give.

When our cat Max got mauled by a Greyhound, suffering a badly broken back leg, we took him to the vets in San Javier opposite the Mercadona carpark. Think its called Levante.

The hip joint had been broken off the top of his leg bone and we thought the only way he could be saved was to remove the leg. They assured us they could remove the ball and he would manage well without it. We were a bit sceptical but let them go ahead with the operation.

They let us bring him home that evening after having the operation in the morning. He was hobbling on it for a few days and now after a few months you wouldnt even believe what had happened to him,and could probably out run the greyhound now!!!!.He made a really good recovery and seems not to suffer any pain at all.

Can highly reccomend this vets practice, be warned tho,was very expensive. Just glad to have Max back almost perfect.

 Regards,    Steve and Anita.

We used Levante when we were renting around that area and found them to be very good.  My 16 year old cat had pneumonia, and we thought she wouldn't survive, but they brought her back to full health.  They were expensive though.  We have also used Faun vets, just around the corner from Levante, and they were also very good.  You will be able to bring your cat home the same day, and for boys it's not too bad, sometimes it doesn't bother them at all.
