Demanda Embargo

The owners of the 40 houses on this urbanisation have been advised by the local authority that there are serious planning irregularities with their properties.  The Town Hall require that all properties be regularised at an estimated cost of around 10,000-15,000€ per property, depending on size and infractions.  We are considering forming a group with a view to taking action against the constructor but have today on member of the groupo received an e-informa advising that a Demanda Embargo has been registered against the constructor's company.  What is a Demanda Embargo?   Obviously if this is something which involves the company being wound up or left without funds, there is little point in going down the legal route to try and get compensation for the builder's misdeeds.

A demanda de embargo is a request for assets of the company to be frozen so that a debtor can enforce his/her rights against them.
