I don't think that Ryanair has pulled out of Murcia yet, but they are certainly threatening to if the Murcian Regional Govt refuses to negotiate more.

Hi
I don't think it's just Ryanair because Easyjet have not released their Winter flights from Bristol yet although they have into Alicante.
Just have to keep an eye on things......

But Ryanair only started flying to Murcia from Leeds in March this year . Thought it might give Jet2 a kick up the jacksie, but it hasn't .
Thanks for posting Colin's pictures Sue.

Hi
First Valencia, then Manchester and now Murcia. The usual bullying Ryanair tactics- "reduce our costs or else" scenario I suppose.
Looks like we will all be trekking back to Alicante again.

Just looked at booking a flight Murcia to LIVERPOOL and there is nothing NOV, DEC. They have clearly pulled the route.

I checked the winter schedules last night from Leeds (which was released on 5th July) and Murcia was already gone :(

I heard it is only for Nov, Dec and Jan and they will be flying in again to Murcia from begining of Feb.....also there is strong talk about Jet2 taking over the routes as they know they are always packed.

Due to my favourite airline, Ryan Air, stopping flights over the winter to San Javier,
I made a booking with Jet 2 online. The major problem crops up when you are asked for your address. You have to give your post code, then click on a button "Find address". This uses the Royal Mail address locator, so a list of houses in your post code appears and you indicate which is yours.
A few more details, phone number, email address, mobile, grannies birthday etc before you "continue".Now you get a message saying "Street address not correct".
I tried this a number of time, even removed it completely and retyped it myself rather than use the address finder. Still no go.
Finally I had to phone customer service at .50p /min. The first three minutes you listen to a recorder message telling you all about the flights, the web site, the options available and if you are deaf or stupid and did not understand the scam, press 0 and give more money to Jet2.Then the live reply came on. I told her that I was having difficulty with the address. She asked if I had used a full stop, comma or hyphen in my address.( I looked around for the You've been framed camera but couldn't see one) I told her that I had used the "Find address" facility provided on their web site
Her reply was that their web site did not recognise full stops, commas, or hyphens and to continue with the purchase, I would have to remove all these from the page. The reply to that is not printable. The call lasted 4 min 1 sec. @.50p/min or part.
I removed the full stops etc, clicked continue and got a message saying that " the original fare for this flight is
no longer available. Go back to Flight finder and start again". I did, the return flight had increase by £5 each!
So Jet 2 know about the problem but do not give any indication of this on the page, which means that everyone has to phone the customer service to be told.Talk about a scam!!

I could write a small play/farce on the time I had to amend one character in a name made on a jet2 web booking.
They are crap but they are the only show in town if you want a winter flight to murcia.....

I look after a few properties and when people are due to arrive I always check arrivals online, in case their flights are delayed.
Yesterday I checked the Jet2 flight from Birmingham to Murcia and it said it was 49 minutes late, so I delayed my arrival at the villa. Surprise, surprise the family were all there waiting for me when I got there, and said the flight had been on time!
I try to be organised and efficient but what is the point?????

Hi Claire,
Use www.aena.es for flight arrival information, it's not always right but most of the time it is.

I use this link to check for flight information, and have found it quite reliable. I believe that you can also ask for flight info to be texted to you, and it also does in flight updates:

I have used flightstats for Alicante and it has been accurate, however when my daughter and her husband came over just after Christmas they flew into Murcia and hired a car, as they were planning to go to Madrid for a few days and drop the car off there. It appeared that their flight had either not taken off or was delayed, however we had agreed to meet them in Murcia and have something to eat there, so I was relying on the text facility to tell me when they actually landed.
We were sitting in a bar having a glass of wine (as you do!) wondering how late they would be, as there had been no text to announce they had landed, when I had a call from Vicky saying "We are here, where are you?" Her husband Ivan had spotted the bar and said we would be in there, so they were already headed our way....! It turned out that they had actually landed on time, so since then I have been a bit wary about relying on this website. I did wonder if it was something to do with the fact that Alicante is an International airport only, whereas San Javier also has military aircraft?
