Thanks for the heads up, i have some great starting points now to help with my accomodation search.
By the way, I'm assuming I would find better rates for a place offline.. for example here in england most of the cheaper places to stay are often just advertised in newsagents windows etc..
Do you think finding something privately advertised is the way to go? Or would i be best contacting agents in the areas mentioned?
I just want to find the best deal I can, obviously the more I can save on rent the more I will have to live on when i'm out there.
Thanks,
Ian

What are peoples opinions on the place Frigiliana?
It looks to be about 2 miles inland from the sea.. but there are some nice looking fincas for reasonable rent out there.
Also Mijas Costa?
Or are those areas perhaps too quiet?
I'm still looking..hard! There's just so much choice, I'm like a kid in a sweet shop with a credit card!

I drove into Frigiliani once...big mistake. It is a small, pretty village with very narrow winding roads. I would also say too quiet for me.
Mijas Costa is less quiet and more spread out. It is beyond the limit of the Malaga to Fuengirola train line at the moment so I would say you need a car to live there and get around. Mijas pueblo is nice, but a few Ks up in the hills behind Fuengirola.
I think you need to visit these places as they are so different, and it is difficult to account for individual taste.

Hi, you might want to consider getting a nationwide visa card as far as i am aware it as the only card that does not have any loading charge for buying goods.i agree with most that a car is not essential here (depending where you live) because of good public transport and one other option is el campello which is between alicante and benidorm. happy house hunting.
