We have a problem with our health insurer, Sanitas. They never notified us of the premium increase, we discovered it only by registering on their website. By law they must notify the insured at least 2 months prior to the contract expiration date.
As the premium increase was huge and we did not have any large health insurance claims, we protested and asked Sanitas for an explanation. We have written to them and entered a complaint before the renewal of the policy and the new premium date (April 1). We have not heard anything back from them, no answer.
The normal grace period for premium payment is, I think, 15 days before they can cancel our contract. But this contract is contested. I have been told that in Spain as of January there are new laws regarding a consumer's rights.
Question: within how many days must we pay or lose our insurance? 15 days? 30 days? 60 days?
