I am looking to move to spain with my family around october next year san marguerita, vista hermosa area.

Can anyone advise me reagrding the state education in spain as I have a ten year old daughter, and what  sort of thing do I need to look for when enroling her in school.

I also have a son who is at college at the moment, Is the university in spain any good or is he better off finishing his education in England?

Cheers

HI Maria, Welcome to the forum it is a brilliant site.  If you go to general discussions their is a site Kids Stuff that might help. But their will be plenty of people to help you.  Regards Pat

Hi Vista01,

What is your son's Spanish like? I ask this because it would be very relevant should he decide to go to one of the many wonderful universities in Spain. I know that we, in the UK, have a lot of students coming from various countries including Spain to study in UK Uni's but tyhey do need a pretty good command of the language in order to benefit. I would suggest that if he is not fluent he would be better served by completing his education in the UK.

Your daughter is a different thing but I would still urge getting at least a basic grasp of the language before joining one of the Spanish state schools, there are lots of very good international schools but these have to be paid for.

I wish you well with your intended move and new life in Spain

Kind Regards

Noel
