And just for the record, my "deceptive and imaginery" statement is based on the assumed opinion, right or wrong,  that if you are sitting in the shade, it doesn't make much difference whether the windscreen is filtering out UV or not.

Well, of course. If you are occupying the rear seat there would little sunlight if any. Sorry I thought the forum subject was referring to the driver, who normally sits in the front.

The rest of your comments are childish, probably your gif is more mature and educated than you. Pity you could not just be honest and admit you could have made an error in your post and apologise to the forum for it.

I spend a lot of time using narrow country roads with speed restricting bends, junctions, visibility obstructions etc.

They of course have the national insane speed limit of 60 mph.

Old age and 150 mph vehicles are making me quite nervous of using them and I myself am driving more slowly.

However I have noticed that oncoming traffic appearing to aim at me most determindely seem to have drivers wearing sunglasses. With a lot of them ladies on the school run I guess.

Curious but true.

yes most definitely....................

but to amplify further...................the gleeming 3 ton hunks of metal hurtling along the roads mentioned are invariable very new and very shiney.

Unfortunately this causes the drivers to avoid the hedgerow, which thanks to the LA having only sufficient budget to employ dozens of sundry "officers, senior officers, assistant directors, directors, executives, senior executives, chief executives et all to corrupt themselves in "supervising private contractors on "competitive" tender contracts", leaves insufficient to employ many manual workers to do the works missed by the dodgy contractors, resulting in much that is overgrown.

The prospect for all drivers especially the lovely ladies going home with scratched paintwork to explain away, is too much to bear, so just push Norman, in his old banger into the ditch, but I do intend to fight back, I am looking for a real tank for the journey.

Ain't life strange, we are currently bedevilled in sunshine - lots of it.

A local lady wearing sunglasses whilst driving backwards in our adjacent cul-de-sac, hammerhead turn area, climbed the kerb and hit the lamp post, knocking it askew somewhat at about 2 pm.

It was not dangerous and stood happily until 5 pm, then a large white van appeared with 3 men and examined it, following which a large crane lorry arrived, 2 men, a meeting ensued following which they all sat there until 9 pm when a further van arrived with 2 men from the electric company, who presumably cut the supply allowing the crane lorry, plus gang to lift it out onto the lorry, after barriering off the area. Some tidying up was done and the resulting hole fenced off with appropriate warning signage and they all disappeared into the night to presumeably to fill in the no doubt exaggerated time sheets.

I know not when we will have street lighting again and what the final bill will be.

I imagine before we had all this private contracting intiative a couple of blokes would have pushed it upright and hand rammed it tight without even changing the bulb. In those days of course I would probably have done it myself and told the dear lady not to mention it to her husband.

What is viagra, is it some sort of tonic for the elderly??????
