If he is that nice perhaps you should enlist his help directly to deal with it?

It sounds obvious Karen, but can't you find out from other neighbours? I'd ask around generally to find out what's going on. In our village everybody knows everything about this sort of issue and they can usually come up with ideas. All the best.

Well, with us it's much lower down; it's lower down than the Ayuntamiento. Apart from the Comunidad de Regantes, which is a local organisation which sorts out all irrigation issues, repairs the acequias etc., the hierarchy goes: Ayuntamiento - Diptuacion (in our case la Diputacion de Granada), which has responsibilities on certain issues like roads for the whole Provinica - Junta. We've honestly never had to go up as high as that for anything. Apologies if you already knew all this. I'll have a think and ask the old man.

No sweat. I expect someone else will be able to help out more when they pick up on this thread. In the meantime will ask himself tomorrow as not in. All the best.

There is a lot of emphasis these days being given to resources including water.
The pundits even tell us that there will soon be wars over it.
If you are dependent on well water can you not channel and direct it into your well?
New houses here are being encouraged to harvest it for use.
Hope you sort something and you can treasure it rather than having a nuisance.

Hi Karen
I'm surprised more people haven't picked up on this; water is a critcal issue in Spain. Norman makes an excellent point about not wasting this precious resource (as your neighbour is doing) and Norman is thinking laterally which is always interesting. It is worth thinking about whether there is any way of diverting this water in a useful way by digging a channel or two across your land in a way that will grab this liquid gold and take it to a tree or bush that likes a lot of water. If this isn't possible because of the lay of the land, then I would try and find out if there is a Comunidad de Regantes (I don't know if they're everywhere); you should be able to get the information from whichever Ayuntamiento covers your property. I asked my husband and he just agreed with this course of action. All the best.

hi guys
thank you for your replies,we have channelled some of the water, but the area its ruuning on is just too vast and is also running under some foundations on our property, after some more investigation it would appear that some how our nieghbour is getting this irrgation water to run constantly on his land,he may have wedged open the water access inlet ,so its permant but cant prove this a s yet as we can fiind out where,i think we are going to have to go to town hall
regards karen
