Flash Floods in Southern Spain
The Comments |
I have seen on the News in England of the terrible flash floods in southern Spain & can only pass on my sincere condolences & sadness.
It says that deaths are in double figures & this together with the awful damage is I would think so hard to bear especially with the austerity measures already in force.
I am so sad for the Spanish (& foreign) people.

Sorry, Gerry, I didn't notice you had started this thread and so have just replicated it. On the BBC news there has not been much detail - they talkd about the area around Malaga and they mention Murcia... Of course, devastating storms are quite common in September and October, but these look particularly bad and have a worse death toll than storms/floods I've witnessed in previous Septembers. They're reporting that it has been the hottest and dryest summer for 70 years, so the water is not draining away.

Yes there is much more reportage on the internet. I use AOL & the photographs are quite horrendous.
Makes me so sad for all of the victims but especially the Spaniards who now have it so rough.
