I had a problem with the taxman in Spain due to a bad accountant . I had an investigation and agreed to pay what they asked for .
I left spain 16 months agos and a friend has picked up my mail which has letters to be collected from the post office sent from the taxman. I am worried that these could be another investigation for a previous year.
Anyway my question is I have a joint mortgage on my property in spain with my partner ( not married ) , if the taxman is after me and embargos property can he do this if I only own half and it is mortgaged

100% certaintly he will embargo any assets he can find in your name also you will be tracked down anywhere in the EU and banged to rights. Your credit rating with the pan-european agencies will be trashed. Gone are the days when you could avoid your responsibilities by moving around europe one step ahead of the taxman et al.
