Car rental Spain to UK and back

We have a friend who has been trying, without any success, to hire a hatch back or estate car in the Murcia region to drive to the UK via France and back again along the same route.

Does any member of EoS know of a car hire company who provides such rentals.

You might try Europcar.  I don't think any companies do it due to driving on a different side of the road. I suggested Europcar as we had a car break down on us a few years ago in France and under our AA cover were given a car by Europcar.  We explained that we needed to get back to London (our car was shipped back as too expensive to repair in France!) and we were allowed to cross the channel in the hire car but then they changed it for a British registered car at Dover.  No-one at customs asked for any paperwork.

I've done a driving trip from Benidorm into Biarritz and didn't have any problems at all. I can't imagine why you would, as there are no laws against driving cars from one country into the other.

They are Autoeurope and advertise one way rentals. 

They appear to deal with all the major rental companies.

Might not be any laws about driving cars from one country to another, but many, if not all of Spain's rental cars cannot be driven out of mainland Spain, except into Portugal and Gibraltar.

In which event two days extra rental is required to allow for immigration control. !!!!

I think extra rentals are required during the weekends.
