What is the position regarding statute of limitation now. The 720 assets declaration seems to have altered it?

The statute of limitation with regard to normal tax returns hasn't changed, its still 4.5 years. The issue with the 720 is that if they discover assets you haven't declared, they are treated as income in the current year, irrespective of when they were acquired.
