hi, in the past i have done transfers to spain from england
via my bank and a currency broker
my question is what is the best method to transfer money
from my spanish account to my english account
not really sure as have never done this before
an online transfer would be best as i will be in england when i
need to do the transfer

Transferwise offer really good rates. I'd definitely recommend them from personal experience.

Don't use your Spanish bank's transfer system. Most banks charge a fortune to make a transfer. Get on the net and have a look at rates from independent money movers - some will quote you on-line.

Try Currencyfair as I now use them, last week I got 1.255 and just a 3 euro charge and next day the funds were in my Spanish bank, this week the rate is even higher!

We now use Transferwise, we had our first transfer commission free, feel free to use this link to get yours free too .. https://transferwise.com/u/29d10 (edited to add ..the link is for up to £2000. Just click on the link to take you directly to Transferwise's website to get you started)
Afterwards it was only £1 to transfer up to £200, 0.5% after that. Easy to set up, we use a debit card to buy euros, the funds are usually in our Spanish bank in/around 24 hrs.
We transfer every couple of months through Transferwise.

Correction to my post earlier .. with my apologies.
We now use Transferwise, we had our first transfer commission free, feel free to use this link to get yours free too .. https://transferwise.com/u/29d10 (edited to add ..the link is valid for up to £3,000, NOT £2,000 AS PREVIOUSLY STATED). Just click on the link to take you directly to Transferwise's website to get you started.
Afterwards it was only £1 to transfer up to £200, 0.5% after that. Easy to set up, we use a debit card to buy euros, the funds are usually in our Spanish bank in/around 24 hrs.

I thought that the OP wanted to transfer FROM Spain TO UK ie euros to pounds sterling. Do these currency firms offer that service? It would be useful to know.
