When buying a property, is it necessary / useful for the solicitor you appoint for paperwork checking, to be local to the area you are buying.. ?
I guess the most important thing is that the lawyer is (*coughs*) 'honest'. Ok, so, this is spain, so let's not aim too high.
I'm looking to buy in Javea, and would like a recommend for the best (or least corrupt) solicitor around here, if having a local solicitor is important, or failing that, a recommendation of a solicitor who tries to find problems, will really dig down and check details, and take pleasure in telling me to run like the wind.
Had good experiences appointing non-local solicitors ?
