Meet Maya, a 2 year old crossbreed girlie who is not coping with shelter life! Maya is desperate for a place to call home whether it be a foster home or a forever home. Maya was found outside a local bar on a busy main road, thin, scared and hungry. She was looking for food and for her own safety we couldn’t leave her there. She was scanned and had a micro-chip and her owners lived quite some distance from where she was found. They said she had run off and they didn’t want her back! We find this difficult to believe because when you walk with Maya she panics if she thinks you have left her behind or she can’t see you. It’s impossible to lose her and she just loves human company and a fuss. She is a kind and loyal soul!
Maya walks well on a lead and is good off lead unless she spots a bunny! She’ll give chase but will come back after she has had some fun.
Maya does spend some time in the kennel owners home and despite everything that had happened to her she remembers her house training. She is also fine in a car.
Maya is not enjoying kennel/shelter life at all. She is stressed by it and she has lost and continues to loose weight. We are concerned for her welfare and know that in a home environment she will settle and blossom. She just needs someone to give her a foster break or offer her a home. Maya very much deserves a chance.
Maya would like to live either as an only dog or with one other non-dominant dog who is not interested in playing. She is not aggressive at all, but just prefers not to be bothered by other dogs. So a nice calm, not in your face, non-dominant companion dog to sniff around with would be ideal. Maya cannot live with cats or small furries.

Maya is vaccinated, micro-chipped & spayed.
