The derisory amount of IBI paid by those in surrounding villages is one of the reasons that Mazarron council doesn't have enough money!
everyone uses roads , beach, has access to emergency services etc, but some are not paying their fair share.
It is ridiculous that someone can live in a large house on a huge plot of land, have all the facilities in the village and yet pay a minuscule amount of IBI, while on Camposol, it is 10 times higher.
the tax on every property should start at a baseline eg 200 euros to cover essential services, then additions can be made for size of house, land, extra facilities and so on
while those who can easily afford to pay a fair amount are smugly paying peanuts, then Camposol will never get the amount spent on it that it needs
i imagine many on Camposol thoroughly resent the fact that a bank manager is paying 10 times less than they are.
reasons given for this have been, some in villages are not on mains water, don't have street lights
well , in some villages they have everything you need including a decent bus service, something Camposol lacks.
IBI needs revamping in the Mazarron area, and everyone should be paying a fair whack.
Apparently in Mazarron, some have lived there for years and pay nothing!
