Moving to spain from the UK-

Hi,

Myself my partner and our friend are moving to Spain on the 10th June.
Im not exactly sure on what area would be best to move to in regaurds to rental prices and jobs.

We will be wanting to pay a few months rent up front s we are secure in accommodation while we search and secure jobs.

I have been looking into both Malaga and Marbella for locations but just not 100% on the likelihood of getting jobs, i understand its season in Marbella?, therefor bar jobs should be fairy easy to obtain with the level of experience we have.

We are looking for a 2 bed property, ideally with a pool, that isnt going to use all of our savings yet is close to bars, beaches etc.

What would your advice be?

Do you have a specialist service or job type that you are looking to pursue ? 

Also can you communicate fluently in the Spanish language. ? 

If you can't answer yes to both of those questions then you will really struggle to find work in Spain ,no matter what region you choose to locate in. Whilst You might be able to secure bar work , this will be low paid with long hours during main season and then drops off in most areas.

Spain has a relatively high unemployment rate , even the Spanish people themselves have been struggling in the jobs market.

I am currently a call centre manager.

not a fluent speaker but will be learning

will be looking at bar work, im not bothered about the ours.

This was written in 2013, so perhaps others could forewarn of changes that might apply in the interim.

Hope this helps a little however.

Have a look at the Costa area of Spain with large expat community's you should be able to pick up bar work or cleaning swimming pools ideally you should be young under 30 eye candy for bar work this type of work is very low paid so bring plenty of money with you don't forget to pay for you're return flight before you come to Spain if you get my drift😉.

That remark was very sexist Wintalker I personally would prefer a barnan that was generous with his portions and looked like Wayne Rooney than a Ronaldi wih a small measure

Ps how much have you put aside for rent as most apartments are let at full price during the Summer so you have to watch that
