thanks for these two replies, the flytraps are the ones we have been using and they do have an effect if the gardener remembers to top them up, we have plastic bags in the bins around the pool and gardens and these are emptied daily, good point about the paths being washed down, ill suggest that as thats where wine and drinks can be spilt,
food for the plants we bring over from the uk phostrogen i think so not using manure....unless the gardener has come up with his own cunning plan to help,
Owners do not walk animals through the gardens, there are a few strays about, but those are dissapearing fast as we got the police out to the people that were continually feeding them despite being asked not to.
After another ispection aroung the gardens i think we have some over watering on grass areas when people dont put the beds away and this can make the ground a bit sodden which then tends to attract the flys.... well keep looking and trying things....
