It does mention IBI in very small print (we have researched but there are lots of conflicting forum answers).

we have been owners for 15 years and this is the first request we have seen. It doesn't say what period the bill of 670 euros covers and no way to pay it that we can see other than in person.

Any help would be appreciated.

thanks

Why don't you go along to the tax office you pay your IBI at .. i am sure they will explain what the outstanding amount is for.

Possibly I am over-suspicious, but 'Patronato de Recaudacion' translates as 'Board of Trustees' - doesn't sound like anything to do with IBI to me?

Recaudación is the process of receiving money.

So it can describe the counter at the town hall (accounts cash desk) where one pays town hall town hall taxes.

As Windtalker suggests, go to your town hall and ask at the information or cash desk.   As it shows IBI that is probably what it is.  Maybe a Direct Debit was not paid

This is the Dept. atvSan Javier Town Hall, different to yours

Recaudación y Gestión de Tributos del Ayuntamiento de San Javier

But this Dept. is responsible for collecting IBI.

Like most taxes and fees, it is our responsibility to pay them not of the Town Hall to send you an  invoice.

Your solicitor or promoter should have provided details to your town hall on purchase and IBI is payable for each year you own the property.

Normally paid by DD via your bank who should provide you with a receipt.

No idea how far they can go back, but I should contact them immediately before they slap a charge for overdue fees on your property, which they can do for unpaid taxes.

Town Halls are slow but eventually they catch up with buyers of new properties.
