Moving to Nerja and finding a school
The Comments |
Hi,
Me and my family are looking to move to Nerja in September. We have a daughter who is 4 turning 5 in September. I am looking for some advice on schools in Nerja. I have spooken to various people whilst being out in Nerja and have had alot of people saying a spanish school would be best a children are sponges and will pick up the language. Can anyone recomend an infant school?

It will depend on the area you move to and which catchment area you are in. Not sure you can pick and choose your Spanish state school like you can with private ones. I believe they have to attend a school within a certain distance of their home and the town hall will have a list of the appropriate ones.
Don't forget you will need the child's immunisation record to enrol them. And, yes, at that age a state school will be far more preferable.

thank you marie. Do you know where the nearest town hall is near Carabeo? We are looking to move into the carabeo area so do you know which schools are within that catchment?

Sorry but it's almost 30 years since we were in that region so any knowledge I have will be well out of date although I do remember the Nerja town hall covers a large area so would expect it to cover Carabeo and ISTR Carabeo beach is smack in the centre of Nerja
I was basically commenting on the general situation rather than a specific location.
Best of luck on your move.
