Mercadona Renovations

Mercadona are currently undergoing renovation of their supermarkets. The results are very pleasing but the parking areas have been modified to provide more places. As consequence, the car bays are smaller and the swing area to drive into them much reduced. Fine for small cars but for saloons a challenge.

Small cars are usually greener; this will help with global warming. It’s good to see industry encouraging this. The days of gas guzzling pollution saloons are coming to an end.

From what i've seen of our local Mercadona and the parking bays in our urb, the Spanish aren't too worried about parking protocol and straddle 2 bays instead of one. Or they just park so close to the other, you would need to get out of the sunroof!!

That issue happens worldwide, you will never eradicate the selfish anti social people.

One son in law has a contract to resurface a major supermarkets car parks, scrape of old tarmac, replace, and repaint car parking space lines, the last major supermarket gave him the plans with an extra 14 car parking spaces squeezed in, cars are getting bigger, spaces shrinking.
