The Prime Minster has announced today that Spain will financially suffer a situation far beyond the 2008 financial crisis. Expect soaring unemployment and poverty. No more tax free expert pool cleaning jobs for Brits and illegal airport taxi runs.
There will only be one way to combat this situation, and that will be redistribution of wealth, that will be the usual take from the have’s to give to the have not’s. Guess who might be in the front of the queue of the have’s.

I should imagine there will be lots of countries in the same boat, let alone Spain. With different countries pledging vast amounts for businesses to get back on their feet (about half a trillion quid in 5 of the biggest EU economies and a staggering 2 trillion dollars in the USA) they'll have to claw this back somehow.
Bet the banks won't suffer, though. Those of us with saving have already seen interest rates plunge to almost zero.

Good point Mariedav
Who do you think will pay for all this if not the banks and cronies of the government? Perhaps the Spanish farmer will have to sell one of his donkeys and holiday rental tax will go up by 50%. I admit anyone’s guess. Maybe a cutback to 1 bottle of gin a day and a ford fiesta instead of a top merc.
There are a lot of malicious stories now doing the rounds and I don’t think Donaldo is helping the situation. Some evil critics are accusing China of starting the virus to shut down world retail outlets in order to boost their own Ebay sales.
