Selling in Spain
The Comments |
I'm just in the process of selling my villa and should complete in the next few days . Was wondering if anyone is aware or how the solicitor will send the money from the sale to me ? There was mention of a bankers draft at the beginning .

I sold last year and had the funds deposited in my Wise (Ex Transferwise) Euro account. It was there next day after sale. I then transferred the funds to my UK GBP account. The biggest issues was getting the 3% tax wotholding back from the Hacienda. They were due after 6 months, but after 4 more months I finally got them. All sorts of extra paperwork involved like a certificate from my bank that I owned the account. All sorted now! Good luck

Usually, the solicitor will transfer the proceeds from the sale directly to your bank account via a bank transfer. It's the most common and secure method, especially for large sums. If a banker’s draft was mentioned earlier, it might be an alternative option, but keep in mind that drafts can sometimes take a bit longer to clear.

why would the solicitor receive your money? the money should be transfered directly to you, never trust anyone to receive your money
