Recovering stolen property

I saw this in my urb's website. thought members would be interested in it.

"I read this info in a local Spanish newspaper and hope the
information would be of interest to all our residents
especially as over the last few years there have been many burglaries
and our residents may find it useful in finding their belongings.

The Guardia Civil has set up a system on their website that
facilitates anyone to recover items that have been stolen.

When a sting operation is carried out on a crime ring, all
confiscated items are categorized, tagged and measured. Detailed
photographs of the items are then posted on their website for the
public to view. National operations are routinely carried out by the
police. Sting operations are given a code name, (such as operation
Scooby) which is then posted on their site. Past operations are also
posted in their archives.

Follow these instructions:

2. Scroll down to the end of their home page and look for "ESPECIALES"
3. If you wish to access past sting operations click on: "VER TODOS
LOS ESPECIALES." If you click on that, you will be shown all the past
sting operations along with the time and dates that they took place.
For example: The latest one posted as of the 9th of October on their
home page is 'Operación Cimitarra' (which, by the way took place in
Murcia and Alicante)
4. Click on 'Operación Cimitarra'
5. You will see in Green on the right hand side of the screen the
list of categories: Joyas: Jewelry. Relojes: Watches. Informatica y
Electronica: Information and Electronics. Telefonica movil: Mobile
phones. Video Juegos: Video games. Varios: Miscellaneous
6. Click on the category you are interested in
7. A list of photos will then be displayed
8. If you see an item that looks like yours, click on the item and a
larger image will pop up

If you find an item that belonged to you, here is what you need to do:

1. You must have filed a 'denuncia' with the local police when the
crime took place. Police will not return your item unless you have
filed a proper police report previously. It's a good idea to
photograph your valuables and keep the photos in a safe place along
with the receipts for these items. That way, if you ever do get
robbed, you stand a much better change of getting your items back
should the police find them.

3. Tell the police you saw your item on the website and give them the
reference number.
If you do not speak Spanish, have someone phone them for you on your
behalf. You may also send them an email with your details and follow their instructions.
This is info which is good to know about which could prove to be
extremely helpful if you are or have been a victim of a crime.

I have followed the instructions and it is seems correct to the best
of my knowledge. "
