this, isn't it ?
My youngest niece had a really fancy wedding yet never settled into wedded life & is now separated after 3-4 yrs. I posted a long post about her wedding somewhere on forum. She was married at ST. AUDRIES, SOMERSET & it was gorgeous & expensive too. Just LOOK at the photo galley as it was JUST like Julie & Charles' wedding. They had incredible fireworks at the end of the evening too. We had a great luch plus a fantastic buffet supper.
Semi. you were a late starter, weren't you both ? Were you & C "together" though for some time before marrying. Seems the usual thing for older people.
You never did tell me how your day with the monkeys was ? Perhaps you could in here, PLEASE. I've been wanting to hear all about it since you said you were going.

I met C when I was 40, we lived together for nearly 5 years before he made the momentous decision. Mind you it was some time before he told anyone he worked with about us, if pressed he would admit to seeing someone now and again at the weekend and that was after we had been living together for 6 months
Monkey World was really busy I was enjoying it until I realised that they had rescued the monkeys from being used by beach photographers and now they were being photographed again by all us visitor's. Felt a bit down but C said they were better off there and started to perk up again. The baby orangutangs were a joy to watch, one had put a potoato sack on it's head and another was trying to sneak up to have a turn with it.
The capuchin monkeys they rescued at the end of the last series have all been homed in three separate enclosures. The stump tailed macaques (ugley monkeys) are doing what they normally do eat and sit surveying the world. They had three in an enclosure with some ring tailed lemurs and I think one might be the female who had been kept in a pet shop for 20 years so had trouble socialising with her own kind.
They were advertising a new series on Animal Planet so hopefully it will provide some more information. I think it's starts in September, I'll check with C as he's the one with the memory.
I'd go back again but definately in the week and out of school holidays.

Semi, why did I just know you & your lovely OH cohabitated before tying that elusive knot ?
If I hadn't had parents who would've disowned me for doing it openly I'd had done the same. (Maybe then I'd not have married ).
Seriously, it's not been easy, it's been, at times, damn hard & I think anyone who says different is lying. But it wasn't lack of love & respect for each other but concerns over money with buying our own home.
Actually, I'll let you into a little secret (just between you & me, Semi ) we did cohabitate from the May to the July when we married but the fibs I felt I had to concoct for my parents you'd never believe ! I left my bedsit (I lived in Leics, my parents lived in Somerset) in the May & stayed with some friends but never realised, when they offered me a bed, that it meant sharing a double bed with their young daughter (perhaps 8-9 yrs old) who idolised me . Coupled with the fact that there was always grubby socks in the basin in their bathroom, I wasn't there more than a week then said to them I'd been offered a room in the village we'd bought our house in & it would be much easier to travel to my place of work as OH would take me with him also working there. I then left without them realising how disgruntled I was, as no way could I have hurt them. I then moved in with OH !!
Fun & games then began as I had to tell my parents I'd left the friends & told mum about having to sleep with the youngster & having to wash over their bath because of the socks stewing in the sink & I told mum that a couple around the corner from where we'd bought, who were friends from a couple of years before, () had offered me a room which was really convenient for working in the house & getting to work. When we had mum & dad arrive in our area for our wedding mum said she wanted to personally thank the people near us for having been so kind to me ... ..... (I WAS 22 !)
So OH flew round to tell his mate that his soon to be MIL would be paying him & his wife a visit ! They thought it was all totally HILARIOUS, I tell you. Never did dare to tackle mum about whether she'd sussed us but I guess a mum knows. She never said.
EDITED AS I FORGOT... the couple a few doors away said to our immediate neighbours in the July, after our wedding photos were in the local paper, "that's that couple from no. 53 who've just married, look !!"

More - If it was up to me we would still be co-habitating. Although even that wasn't easy as I'd been independant for many years.
abbb1 - Living next to a cat breeder, that must be hell. We only have one now who has suddenly found a voice after being mute for 15 years. It's not a meow more like a howl and very loud. Well loud enough to wake us out of a deep sleep and after dashing downstairs we found her sitting in the hallway. Absolutely fine C thinks she's deaf but she can hear me switch the kettle on and before it's boiled she's there at my ankles reminding me that she'd like some milk.
I wonder who taught her that trick, I'm glad we never had children as we can't agree how to raise a cat!

Morning to you More
Best to leave things as they stand abbb1 as you want to sell, don't put cat mint in will you or you'll have them going crazy
If you had more time I'd suggest putting up Honeysuckle against a trellice strategically placed where the offending shed is.
If you want to take it further you could always contact the council, isn't illegal to run a business from a private house.
I think the RSPCA are only interested when the film cameras are around, for it to smell like that it must be really neglected or is it a Tom Cat smell.

Hi Abbbb
Just saw you post, poor you, just been familiarising myself with your previous posts as I seem to have ignored you so sorry.
We had a whiffy bin years ago & hubby grew night scented stock around it which is wonderful at night & VERY strong scented so could help. Pretty too.
Those poor cats. I love cats myself but not in that uncaring situation.
Glad you had a good time tonight. I've enjoyed my day (after being hit at by a couple of members ). I went for some retail therapy. Just household items but got rid of a few bob. Enjoyed doing that & looked in a new shop selling lots of cheap stuff, Semi would love it. (R U reading this, Semi ? )
Sleep well, catch you again soon.

More, glad the retail therapy worked! This is usually one of my first lines of therapy too, but sometimes I let it get out of hand!

Jules, click the Wave FM link in my signature, it's great easy listening, our kind of music. It comes up as an extra window. I listen all the time, it's from Villa Martin.

Yes, he's fine thanks & has been fast asleep since just before 1am.
Bought 2 new pillows to take to Spain for spare room as we're using those we took out for the spare room, to go with ones we'd got for us as two each was better. We also bought an orthopaedic one each for here &, if I ever get to bed, I'll hopefully sleep better. Bought new oven gloves as others had holes where I needed them not to be. Burnt ends of fingers a few times. Bought a new "hygenic" chopping board which means our other one wasn't !! Didn't spend much but enjoyed choosing. Saw curtains & matching cushions for lounge, just spied them from afar & though YES !!! So came home with info written down & will have a think. Saw blackout curtains for bedroom too, must get some as sun wakes me up around 10am & can't have that now.
Glad you're enjoying WaveFM, good innit ?

Well I missed it all last night, when C is on evenings if I don't get to bed first his snoring keeps me awake. He keeps telling me I snore but that doesn't keep me awake and it doesn't bother him either. His head hits the pillow and he's gone.
Will have to think of some more planting tips, Summer Jasmine is another strong smell but again takes a long time to establish.
I'm at the age and size where I don't do mirrors and it's longer than 20 years ago that I was a size 10. I read diet magazines eating chocolate biscuits or danish pastries and sitting here typing on the laptop isn't helping either.
Many years ago, when I was a size 10 actually, I did shift work working 24 hour 3 week shift pattern running a mainframe computer. When I was on nights I had trouble sleeping during the day especially in the summer. I made my own curtains and bought black out linning, it works a treat. I think Argos sells black out blinds, I was going to take them out to Spain as our house has wooden shutters. Replaced them with aliminium ones and at last I can sleep later in mornings well at least til 8 as that's when next doors percianas go up ( who needs alarm clocks)
Am off for a girlie weekend with 3 fellow shift workers today, we're going to meet up at our shift supervisors house in Chippenham, on Monday another couple coming down to stay so after we have all had lunch together I'll make my way home. Should be a good weekend going over the good old days, 6 women sitting round a table I'll never get home

Two words of advice from someone who regularly carries over the kitchen sink, Space Bags and holdalls.
Use the Space Bags (to get the linen over clean and dry, even in a case items will get wet if it rains) line the holdall with the Space Bags, bottom and sides and everything else goes in the middle fully protected. Delicate things I pack into a box just in case. Holdalls weigh less than suitcases so you can make good use of your allowance.
Space Bags can also be used at the house in Spain to keep linen fresh and ready to use on your return. Just need to buy a hoover or take over one of those hand held cheap ones.
Every airport has trollies so you don't need to worry about carrying the holdalls.
Stansted now has coin deposit ones but they accept £, E and 25c coins, as a regular us travellor we have loads of 25c so will take some with me next trip
