Cox, near Orihuela.

We have just returned to the UK after eight weeks in our apartment in Cox.  after fulfilling work commitments over the next couple of months, we will be returning to live there permanently in January.  Of course there are administrative hassles; you can't transfer your life to a foreign country without them, but our experience has been so positive.  We live in a lovely community two kilometres outside a typical Spanish town where few people speak any English.  As nearly all those living on our urbanization have signed up for Spanish lessons, we intend at least attempting to learn their language, and are finding that friendship and smiles go a long way in breaking down barriers.  It hasn't all been plain sailing, but given the right attitude and a bit of humility- after all, we are now the foreigners-! we hope we can make the move work for us, and maybe even to be able to import something good from our own British culture.  Hope there are many of you reading this with equally positive experiences.    Very best wishes,  Donna and Andy
