I don't know about you but I'm really happy that Obama has become the new president of the US. Let's hope his ideas and ways help to stabilise the world economies which are in such turmoil. It's amazing how much the problems in the US have affected us all. It was time for change and the American public seems to have agreed. Interesting times ahead watching things unfold. Let's see what happens. Justin

with the challenges facing America he is either going to be a Ronald Regan or a Jimmy Carter, there won't be an inbetween. Regan in the sense that history has treated him very well.

This all reminds me 1997 when a young Tony Blair came to power, bringing so much hope to the country after years of the Conservatives who the electorate were weary of. I hope it works out better this time for all our sakes.

The whole election campaign has been a re run of the 'West Wing', if you  ever watched it you'll know what I mean!

To be honest, I'm not sure it will make much difference.  Yes, it's great that they have elected their first black president and he seems like a genuinely nice bloke.  We might see a change in presentation (more slick) but I'm not sure there will be a greate change in policy.  At the end of the day both parties are generally funded by the same companies/organisations and both are right wing parties, with one a bit more right wing than the other!
