Speeding fine on A-7 towards Alicante

Who did it come from? Beware as there are many scams on this. . Contact your hire car company (by e-mail) and ask them if they have been contacted as that is the only way the police can get your details. If they haven't been contacted then ignore it.
Of course, if they have been contacted then you'll have to man up and pay the fine (you should have instructions on how to do it) and slow down a bit next time you're out there. But beware of the scams.

Any advice welcome. I have just had a notice of a fine through from May this year - I am now back in UK, this was in a hire car. The fine is for €140, and the envelope states "a signature is required", but i didn't sign for it. Any advice as to what the comeback is if i ignore this - I will be back in Spain in October, so don't want to risk finding i can't get a car, or have trouble if stopped.
Thanks for any advice from anyone with experience of this.
Ted
