I already reserved that with them at the weekend but they contacted me today to say that it is not available.  The best they could give me was a Focus which is extra and that was with Goldcar.  The fuel for that is more again and I know that I will not use a full tank.

Sign of the times, friendly, I'm afraid. I know people who have cancelled rentals because they couldn't get a hire car at any price. Take what you can get I say, if you have the chance of a car.

As a car is insured rather than the driver do you have any friends there whose car's sat on their drive as you could maybe offer them money to rent theirs. I know of car sales in the Torrevieja area who find rentals for people & they were saying it's an impossible task.

We went as far as to buy our own in June due to the high charges & now, I'm more than glad we opted to do that as the charges IF you can obtain one are sky high.

Our apt is not completed yet but when it is we will probably buy a car as it wont be too long when hired cars come with flat tyers and we need to pay for AIR.

Thanks anyway

Hello,

I always recommend taking full comp insurance. I was in Ibiza this summer and rented a car with Turbo Rent a Car. I took the fully comp insurance and had no problems at all. In fact I gave it a small bump and it was covered.

Windy, you can report any post that you believe is against forum rules.

In this case ramonk is just pumping his car hire website. Maybe he is a paid advertiser and it’s allowed.
