Community TV issues & installers - BE AWARE
The Comments |
We have had a few communities in recent times contact us regarding issues below with systems - not installed by ourselves.
A complete community system for satellite reception of both Horizontal & Vertical frequencies requires 4 cables from the dish - Vertical high & low / Horizontal high & low. These are fed into multi switching equipment which assembles the signal, then passes on to series of amplification over the site. This is how any community satellite system should be installed.
If you are receiving no channels on the horizontal frequencies, it is likely that a system has been installed which will only look at the verticals (we have seen this done on more than one occassion) as this requires a single cable & around 1/3 rd of the amplification & equipment requirements of a system that has both horizontals & verticals.
This of course makes the system much cheaper and drastically reduces costs for the installer - but you will not be able to receive many channels.
This is not how to install a satellite system and is only done for the benefit of the costs to installing company.
