Expat networking Groups in Spain
Thursday, April 3, 2014
For a few years now I have been participating in the Internations group in Granada. I wanted to talk about the new group that has just been set up for Almeria. I´m quite excited about this as this is a popular area with many people moving to Cabo de Gata, Aguadulce and Mojacar areas.
I´m sure that interest in this group will grow quickly. Their first event is on Sunday 6th April at Aguadulce beach.
What is Internations?
Internations is a no for profit organization that helps people with the transition when moving abroad for work or other reasons. They connect likeminded people in the new location. There are actually groups worldwide in most large cities.
How can I join?
You can head to their website Internations.org and register for online. You can connect and find many people in your area online even if you don´t attend the meetings.
Is there any cost?
It is free to join the website and most events are free to attend.
The Granada group has been growing steadily over the last 18 months. We now have over 40 regular attendees to the events we plan monthly. The events are in Granada city, although people come along from different areas of Granada province.
Typically the members who come along have been living in Spain for many years and have adapted well. The mixture of newly arrived expats and established expats makes for a great evening out. It´s a perfect networking opportunity for people, often members have small business or may be freelancers. So it´s a way to support the local expat community.
What´s been going on lately on my blog?
- I have been to the Templo de Flamenco in Granada. The review will be coming up very soon.
- My blog/website has had a huge overhaul: Now it will look pretty on your mobiles and tablets too.
- I have written about Safety when visiting the Alhambra and Granada although it could be useful for most tourist areas of Spain.
Enjoy the weekend wherever you are in the world
