Those who are against abortion are against abortion. Those who are in favour of it are also against abortion - they merely accept it can sometimes be a lesser evil.

Foetus aslo has human rights to live.
if termination is allowed due to deformity it is breech of E C H R
Spain is amember to E U.
there is second issue who decides what is a deformity and what is normal.
so well done Spain

How sad for the deformed babies born! Depending on the severity of the deformity or disabilities many are unable to lead a life with any quality and if able to make their own choice would probably choose not to live a life like that. For some, as they grow and age every day will be torment for them so to rule that they "MUST BE BORN" is cruel.

Imagine being born blind, deaf, mute, incontinent, fed through a peg and confined to a wheelchair with no mobility for life...WHAT QUALITY OF LIFE IS THAT?!

The cost of raising a child with deformities/abnormalities and disabilities is excessive and support networks are lacking to non-existent...so many babies/children don't get the appropriate care they need and the parents have no help or support.

Sometimes abortion would be considered the kinder and more humane option. Sad but true.

I also agree with Elvira. It's all well and good when these deformed are small, but they grow into adults and often, then cause tremendous stress on the rest of the family, I know of 2 family's where it has taken a severe toll on them all. Years ago midwifes would put these babies to one side and they would die. Yes it was and is upsetting, but parents do recover as the bond is not as strong as when you raise a child and the attachment is even stronger. Who has to pay for these children?? The state cannot afford to, we can't afford to look after old people who have paid and contributed. The other problem is the medical profession who like to experiment. We have to accept that some babies for whatever the reason, often genetic should not survive. Mother nature knows best but we keep interfering.
