Apparently the driver was just taking the dogs from their crate to walk them & a lorry driver behind him sounded his klaxon & the dogs bolted. They notified owners & searched for 3 hours then had to continue the journey with other dogs on board. The police have been notified & given the chip details.

Do you know anyone in that area. They think the place is called Caravel Junction 92 on A23.

PLEASE LOOK FOR THESE DOGS, THANKS!

A salutory lesson for here anyone who takes animals in their car, van, truck whatever. Dogs are completely predictable in their un-predictability.

Always, always expect the unexpected...

I must admit, when I first read the story on Facebook like all other contributors, I was all for lynching the transporter driver, but that was before the full story came out. If it happened the way it was reported, and given the mischievous and sometimes unthinking actions of others, I'd be very surprised if it didnt, the poor driver was left with little choice but to carry on with the trip. He called the owners, called the police and reported the incident and spent 3 hours looking for the escapees. In the meantime he has other dogs in the van... he has a continuing responsibility to them and their owners. Ask yourself "what would I do in the same circumstances?"
Turn around and return the other dogs to their owners?
Maybe they already left if they too were going to the UK... still means that the driver is having to leave the escapees behind. Hobson's Choice.
Just hope and pray that the police or Serprona find them and can return them to their owners. A truly gut wrenching story for all concerned.

If the driver had been searching for 3 hours why the hell didnt he get in touch with the owner who by the way is me sooner which would have given me more time to drive from murcia to look for the dogs and no he didnt report it to the police that was left to my daughter and friends of ours all of whom have been affected by this the guy couldnt have been very much in control to have let them pull away in the first place and by the way he had a choice he could have stayed and searched a lot longer but then he would have had to have explained himself to customers of the other dogs with him as to why he was late and im pretty sure they would have understood but no he thought of himself and that was it.

Hi Tim
I've just used an animal courier to bring my dog over to Aragon.
VERY very anxious throughout his journey. My heart goes out to you. I am in Aragon, and I think if the dogs are spotted roaming, then the Guardia Civil will pick them up and take them to the nearest dog rescue, there are many over here. Don't lose heart, think positively, they are healthy dogs, and resillient. Contact every rescue you can find in the area.
