I have been approached today by a company called Crewise who are based in Manchester. They purport to represent British Airways flight crews and catch you with a message asking if your apartment is available to rent for stopovers. The alarm bells ring here because of the location! When you ring back, it appears they are a leisure company associated with BA crews and as such offer incentives and discounts to them and also holidays. For only £100 you can advertise your property on their website for 2 years.

Not sure about them as one of their pages shows up as a flagged known spyware page in Google, although the rest of the site seems cosher enough. They may be legitimate enough, but I am always sceptical about people contacting me and asking for money.

Lets be careful out there!

Mark

I've had the phone call today as well.

It is a concern that they use a "hook" to get your interest  & when I rang them back, it was well into the conversation & only when I asked, that I was told about the charge.

From bitter experience, all of the cold callers promoting advertising your rental property in their publications, promise the earth and deliver little or nothing.

Don't waste your money, do your own research and 'dip your toe into the water' without commiting yourself.

My naievety cost me quite a lot of money and grief.

I work for British Airways based at Heathrow - and can advise you that Thalassa would not be a place that BA staff would particuarly stay at in their droves (one of the reasons we chose it!) because the nearest airport BA fly to is Alicante and that is a very popular tourist route and very difficult for them to get to on staff travel.  I don't even attempt it and i have 22 years seniority I now use easyjet into Murcia and do not bother with my cheap travel for that reason.

My advise to you as others have said is that it is all an advertising scam and if you are going to advertise aim for a much broader market.
