Dear All Thalassa clients,
For you information, I contacted my Spanish solicitor regarding the miss selling of the Spa/gym from the original proposed size by Key Mare.
Her lawyer has investigated the situation and quite clearly Key Mare have broken the law on this and therefore my lawyer would be very confident of a positive outcome on this matter.
The down side is the enormous costs the lawyer wants to charge us all!! to represent us on this matter, but I have forwarded on to Noreen and Monica , so we can have a base to work from and bring the topic up at the community meeting shortly.
I believe it is very important we do not let Key Mare of the hook for this and we must all keep the pressure on them!!

Thats useful to know and certainly a route we could consider going down to get what we effectively paid for.
Do you have an idea of how long this whole process would take?
Perhaps it will be something I can hope to have in place for when I retire in 20 years time lol.
Going back to earlier comments on another thread about the spa being a white mammoth - perhaps we seek some sort of financial compensation and put it towards developing the existing facilities into something we actually do want and which is functional??

As Noel says the enormous cost that the solicitor is quoting is just not feasible. I am sure that there must be alternative legal approaches that would not be as expensive.
I did mention this to Monica & I have provided the details but it is something that would have to decided & voted on as a community, if we were going to proceed.
It has also been mentioned in other threads that if at all possible, issues such as these should be discussed on the community website forum & not on a public forum such as EOS. Please can I encourage those who have not yet joined to do so, as this is where communications are going to be posted as well.

I think that this is a very important issue which needs to be explored thoroughly at Community level rather than by individuals because of the costs. My Abogado has also said that we have a case and that similar situations have gone to court and the Community involved has won the case. I have not discussed cost with him. Noel did you get an indication of exactly how many K Euros we are talking about? I would certainly be willing to contribute to a central fund to fight this. I feel that KM should be made to build what was originally planned and that we should not compromise with accepting compensation. The structure looks fairly utilitarian to me and it should not be too difficult to take the roof off and build another level.
I fully support Noreen's plea for this discussion to happen on the Thalassa site where there is a degree of privacy and a thread on the subject already running. All owners need to register and use our own site. It is not totally secure, but it is not open to the public like EOS.

Did anyone else make notes at the first meeting of the community in March?
I have a note next to item 1 which says that the Chair in his introduction said that as part of Seasun's service, in addition to the management team in Madrid they have a team of Lawyers who are free for Thalassa owners to seek advice from.
I don't think I imagined it as I wouldn't have written it down, but this may be another source for advice re the spa.
