There is an Indian restaurant that has opened right next to the Wok Restaurant in the Hispania Centre next to the Water Park. We tried it the day after opening and it is really good apart from the price of the drinks. They are charging 9-50 euros for house wine and 1-60 for the very small bottles of sin-alcohol, sorry don't know about real beer prices, I was driving.

The food was good ,but the portions small, and the place lacked atmosphere, difficult to get your bill when you wished to leave, the Wok is far better value. If you have not got an appetite and fancy a change .OK

Hola Kenshaz
I agree with everything you say, small portions, no atmosphere and drinks far too expensive.
We went to the Wok last night and had a look in the Indian on our way past and saw a few occupied tables, when we left the Wok after having several ´courses´ the same tables were occupied by the same people, still eating. You can´t tell me that they had several courses, more like they were waiting that long in between courses. Also I don´t know if you noticed that the rice in the Indian is re-heated in the microwave behind the bar, don´t like that. I certainly won´t be going there again unless things change. We will stick to the Wok and the other chinese we like in Garrucha, where the menu del chef is to die for.

Hi Phil,
We have just come back from Thalasa. We tried different restaurants during the week we were there. I must say that we actually really enjoyed the food at the indian restaurant above Consum. Food and service was very good. They also had live music on Wednesday night and the resaurant was full. In addition to that we have tried El Mar (Vilaricos), Chinese (above consume), eL birra (Garucha) and we have enjoyed.

Perhaps you might ask them to increase the portion size and stop re-warming the rice behind the bar in a micro-wave,and bring the bill when requested, paper knapkins compared to the Woks laundered , more like a cafe than a restaurant.

You are entitled to your opinion. All I am saying is that the food was great and we enjoyed it. I will definately recommend it. Considering they have only just opened I am sure they can do with some customer feedback to put some minor points right.

Shahid,
We are big fans of Indian cuisine, and no -one wants them to succeed more than me .The food was tasty, but they are next to the best value in Town and there is so much competition around the area..We ate in an Indian restaurant last night in the UK ,they have been around for 25 years and they have got it right ,freshly cooked food ,rushed off their feet ,but they forget no-one,good price and more than you can eat. Basic ingredients in the UK are more expensive and they charge £ 8 .99p for poppas and chutney ,starter ,main course including rice or nan, side dish and sweet or special whiskey or brandy coffee .. It is not a set menu and the choice is vast. Linen table-cloths and napkins.
I hope they up the game ,I want choice ,within walking distance, the concept is good. This message was last edited by kenshaz on 7/4/2008.
