It does and it's frustrating, but a bit of manyana has got me this far with me only getting really frustrated a couple of times, I took it out in 1 stinging e.mail to PW last August............ made me feel better......... they didn't respond.
As it happens I appointed my solicitor by POA months back as what you have described happens in pretty much every case. My completion date has been 30/6 for months, and was changed to 22/7 last week. I never had any intention of going out personally to complete - total waste of my time and money.
As for the snagging, then I expect many faults to be found, just as I find with UK built new homes (no better, no worse and you get the 'clients' who aren't bothered right through to the ones who don't like the fact that a bit of grout is still on a tile).
Most of the faults will be annoying minor things, which if they happen over the years we're living in a house then you would tend to just put up with it, I think my own UK house is great and yet if i professionally snagged it then i can think of 20 things i'd want putting just right now and i suspect a snagger would find triple that........ just thinking about it....
My bathroom tiling ain't perfect as I took all the tiles off myself to fix a leak, and as I ain't a tiler, they don't look great right now, but they are fit for purpose.
I have a slate loose on my porch roof
The leak that came from the bath, came thru the ceiling - I've still gotta repaint the ceiling
A couple of locks on windows have keys missing
An internal door doesn't click shut anymore
A gutter has become slightly unaligned
My brick paving needs raking out and resealing
And yes i will get round to it, but in the meantime they're ok, bit like any mates house's i goto, they've all got lived in snags, and i don't want to live in a perfect showhouse............ i want it to feel like a home away from home
But that letter will make you feel better, until you then start thinking, will they leave a fish on an internal heating pipe coz I've complained
