Just spent the past five days exploring around finca parcs. Until now we had only visted the lake opposite and the little village so thought it was time to explore a bit further affield. The guys from finca valley prepared us a route plan taking in some of the other lakes in the area and the cenejo hotel, found some fantastic walks and picnic areas in the forest near the hotel and river, reminded me of being in the english countryside, but without the rain. We also took a trip to Albacete to check out the shopping, been told before how good it was and was very pleasantly surprised, the centre had plenty of shops to keep the girls happy and even better when we discovered a new el corte ingles, it is no further than going to murcia but i would say it is a better journey and much easier to park, about half an hour on the motorway from finca parcs. Hellin the closest town which surprise surprise happens to have a fiesta on at the moment , has a really great market in the middle of the week and the prices were a fair bit lower than what we pay on the coast. Check out the park in the town in the evenings, around 8ish bars are set up in the park and it seems the place to be, the place is buzzing we were made to feel very welcome by the locals and even bumped into a few of the guys from fp that are already living there. All in all we had a great time and apart from bumping into a few brits in the hotel and meeting some of the finca guys we felt as if we had finally found the true spain at last. Chingo

Hello Chingo, hello everyone,
I have posted some photos of the Hotel Cenajo, the hotel pool and surrounding area for you all to see how beautiful it is.
The hotel is approximately 30 minutes drive from Las Higuericas. The drive through Las Minas to the hotel is definitely worth it. I would recommend it to everyone. Even the girls enjoyed our visit!!! The colour of the water in the lake is unforgettable, the picnic area was scenic and the walks were pleasant. The views of the dam were unbelievable.
This place has to be seen, to be believed!!!

Thanks for the lovely pictures, it looks great. We were thinking about using the hotel for a few days when we make our next site visit, we have found some vouchers in the free newspaper. The room is free as long as you have breakfast and an evening meal there.
On another note do you have any recent pictures of the site especially the first section. I understand that you are living nearby now and visit often, we are due to complete in a couple of months time and wondering if it is likely to happen before Christmas ! What mobile telephone do you use, whenever we are there we do not have a signal, do you have this same problem, Many Thanks.

Hi Kabri,
Im really pleased you liked the pictures.
I am going to visit the site again on Friday. I will take as many pics as I can for you and will post them this weekend if I get the chance, although it is fiesta time in Hellin this week and next, so I will do my best. The girls have been constantly nagging for me to take them to the funfair!!! And I will make sure I dont get trampled by the bulls!!!!
The phone network I have on my mobile is Movistar. We find we can get a pretty good signal in Agramon and Las Higuericas. Although sometimes it does play up, and like in the UK, you sometimes loose signal when you travel between the mountains.
Regarding your property, if you would like to let me know what phase you are on and plot number, hopefully, we will be able to give you a pretty good idea on progress. If I am able to get near your property I could even take some pics for you. (Please PM these details).
Regards
Mandy

Hi Kabri,
We have Movistar mobile internet, as the signal from vodafone and orange on the site is poor, so we have been told from other people that have visited the area and people who work on site that have these networks. We have a Movistar phone and we have a strong signal around the site. The Movistar internet dongle/receiver works with a mobile phone sim card so we always have good coverage. At the moment it is 29 Euros to buy and 19 Euros per month thereafter, but it depends on what package you choose (there is a cheaper package available with Movistar).
Regards
Rich
