Hi Everyone
As you will probably be aware the € exchange rate has been droping recently and is now down to 1.24. I have an Esther on Phase 4 which at current rates is going to cost me £30k extra, though I do have a little time yet. But for those completing soon, if you are buying in sterling then the price has gone up drastically. Has anyone got any advice on how best to minimise the increase in price based on a weak pound?
Cheers

Hi, I am currently looking into taking out a Spanish mortgage, that way it will minimize the effect of the low exchange rate. Have received a few leaflets over the past months from the management company that have some interesting deals to offer, maybe worth thinking about in the short term especially if you are looking to rent out your property, just an idea ! Hi
I have bought on Phase 4 also and if I am honest all we can do is keep our fingers crossed. I am sure it will come further down before it creeps up again though.
On the upside maybe the value of these properties will be alot higher than we all thought which would be great

I think that is what alot of people on the later phases are hoping for, us included we were originally told that the prices would be going up again when the show house was completed but i dont know how true that is.

In my experiance once the show house is completed the value goes up, then once each phase are completed they go up again unit the whole development in complete and the builders are off site and then that is when the capital appreciation should really kick in.
The above is how things should work in a good market and we all know that its far from that at the moment
Thanks

Thanks for the comments, and like you I hope to see some strong appreciation as the phases complete. I am over for a vist on the 9th May and if the pictures are anything to go by, my visit will at least confirm that we have all bought first rate property, they do look nice, and not a cloud in the sky!
