Hi all,

We are completing the second week in November. We will stay for one full week, and I just wondered: Will we be able to live in our apartment diectly after completion? Is it possible? And if it is; is there anything special we should arrange on beforehand? Appreciate all answers.

Kind regards,
tomea

Hi Tomea
Well we certainly couldn't have lived in our apt - we had nothing in it. No water, elec or cooker.  I think if you arrange your water and elec and take a sleeping bag you could manage if you like camping!  I think others on this site were more organised and prepared than us though, ours still is an empty shell although I am about to start arranging some aircon and appliances.
Where is your apt?
Tan

We were going to when we completed in August but not only did we have nothing including elec and water but PW needed access to carry out snagging within 30 days.

Hi Tomea,

We managed to stay in ours about 2-3 weeks after completion but spent virtually the whole week before that staying off site and just arranging furniture deliveries, electric and water connections (builders supplies not utilities), snagging issues, getting lights fitted etc.  It was worth it in the end but we still had the workmen in sorting out problems whilst we were there!

As I have said on a previous thread, with hindsight we would probably have furnished the place after snagging had been completed.  I guess it depends on your stress tolerance levels!!!

Good luck whichever way you do it.

Tim

Thanks for your helpful answers! Our apartment is a penthouse, block 13. Tim, I think you have a good point there, furnishing after the snagging period and after the workmen have done their job. I think we will rent an apartment during our stay from Sat Nov 8th - Sat Nov 15th. If anyone has availabilty during that week, please don´t hesitate to drop me a private message.

Regards,
tomea

Hi Tomea,

Have sent you a private message - we have availability for the dates that you need.

We rented another apartment ourselves for the first week when we went over to sort out furniture etc, just so that we had somewhere to escape to in the evenings and get a decent night's sleep after all the hard work.

Good luck!!
Debbie

We are out for completion on 7/11 for Jardin 7 Los Naranjos.
Solicitors have sent us all the necessary papers and a very comprehensive email, detailing everything we need to do.
Snagging is arranged. But like some others, I have asked for a guarantee on the habitation certicate on the day we complete - no reply as yet.
I'm going to take out a few things for the apartment which "Her Indoors" has collected recently - nothing weighty or expensive but I'd appreciate any comments on whether anyone feels that this is risky or has experience (good or bad) of leaving property in the apartment unattended, with delivery men, workmen etc going in and out.
Anyone undertaking keyholding services at Los Naranjos?

Peter

Hi Peter,

Carol (angelbabe911) is offering a key holding service at Condado - can definitely recommend her.  She is a lovely, lovely lady and offers an excellent service for both key holding, cleaning, linen changes etc at very reasonable rates.  She went to the trouble last week during the thunder storms of going round checking all the properties she looks after to make sure there were no problems with water flooding under the doors!

If you send Carol a private message, she will get back to you with the details.

Debbie

Peter

We completed in Jardine 2 in July. Did exactly as you were planning to do - completed on the Friday, and put some non valuable items in the apartmnt on the Sat / Sun before returning home.  We basically bagged everything up and stuck it in wardrobes so that it wasn't on full display. Snagging etc was done whilst we were back home and we returned end of Aug to find everything was as we'd left it..  so our experience was okay.

Great - thanks or the responses. We'll put the stuff into the flat, as proposed.
I've seen Carol's good work on this forum and I'll get in touch with her,

Peter
