The Comments |
It is starting to become apparent to me (or is it just me?) that we are getting threads that are asking more and more how to get out of Contract with Calidona,
If I were a short term pure Investor then the best scenario for me would be for Calidona to go bust and my bank guarantees to repay me my deposits. I don't know if this is the hope of any of our forum members, I for one sincerely hope not.
It would make it so much easier for everybody from now on if thread titles were accompanied by (LS) or (INV) so that we would be able to follow relevent viewpoints and contribute more positively to those from the same viewpoint as ourselves.
I am a Lifestyle purchaser and although I would wish no Investor to lose out on their deposits (I wish them in-fact to make a profit of some sort), I really hope that none would be so devious as to try and start turning everybody against Calidona for their own ends.
This is a great forum and this thread is not intended to create a rift but to enhance by appreciating which viewpoint the poster is coming from.

I am also in the LS section, and to be honest if I were somebody looking to invest in property reading threads recently would mean avoiding Calidona. This would not be in the interst of any of us as surely INV and LS want all phases to be sold as promptly as possible so that hotel shops etc do get built. Every time I visit Corvera I feel the correct investment was made. We took the long term view from the off and have already booked flights for a stay next summer, so they better crack on with the building work else it will be camping at the show house.

Very good posts from ICSSpain and Steve. I am an INV on Corvera as I am an LS a little further down the coast. I think though that we all want the same thing - a good quality resort with the facilities promised. I didn't invest for short term, I have a 4/5 year time frame in which I would expect the development to be properly completed and hopefully I can sell/rent and make a few quid, nothing wrong with that. I certainly do not want them to go bust. I hope everyone who has made a lifestyle choice in buying in Corvera get what they were promised.
In that regard I believe that we all have a common interest in seeing the resort completed properly and in some sort of reasonable time frame. Therefore we should all pull together to establish our options both legal and tactical and put the pressure on Calidona (in a constructive way) to deliver.
Regards
Sean

We are in both categories, as in Investment in the medium term, Lifestyle in the longer term.
We absolutely want to complete.
As I have said in another thread, our issue is not with Calidona, but with the Spanish Solicitor. In fact, we have had far more information from the Developer than the Solicitor during a recent spat concerning bank guarantees. I believe that the Developer is behaving no differently than a UK Developer would in the same circumstance, however, the fear comes from our ignorance of Spanish law, hence my disappointment with the Spanish solicitors.
We already have family and friends interested in visiting Corvera next year, so our fervent hope is that nothing happens to prevent that!

Hi all.
Many thanks for the replies so far.
I hope that this is helping the forum in that more of us are able to understand some of the comments and suggestions being made, as we are better understanding one anothers viewpoints.
Once again I do not believe that there is a "split" in the group but when I personally am reading comments, it's definately helping to understand the poster's perspective.
Best Regards To ALL

Hi all, is everyone still of the same opinion as they were back in October. Be good to start a thread for those still planning on proceeding with their purchase. I'm not really sure where I stand these days.
Regards, Anita.

I am in Phase 3 and am currently still aiming to complete. I can understand the frustration and the views of those who do not wish/can't complete within Phase 1/2, but believe that within phase 3 I am still within acceptable time limits and still looking forward to a change in lifestyle in the future.

I think by now you all know that we're definately aiming to complete. Even if Calidona pulled the plug I'd build the bl**dy thing myself.
