Transferred my account from San javier to Camposol when i was last over. Dead easy to do and so much simpler knowing its nearby.
Camposol branch also gave me my online access details which i have now successfully used to check all those miscellaneous debits which just leave my account, albeit i did get a €150 refund from he lumpsum that was taken to cover all charges when the mortgage/completion was done.......... i thought it was another debit

Shampers, i thought a direct debit had gone out as well and wrote an e-mail complaining that they've taken 372 euro's out of my account without telling me again. They wrote back quite smuggly that it hadn't gone out but in to my account as it was left over from the setting up of the mortgage, i was red faced but HAPPY. . Wrote back to apologise as well.
Chris.

Shampers,
When you tranferred your CAM bank account did you do it: over the net, from San Javier or from Camposol? When CAM set our account up it was on the PW resort at Mar Menor but we too would prefer it to be closer to CdA. We are in Jardines 1 and due out again on 19th Nov, so would be a good time to move accounts, if it is a simple as you suggest.

Chris............ easy mistake to make !!
Jim/Betty - Original account opened by internet/post when applying for the mortgage in about April, simply went into Camposol branch when i was over a couple of weeks back and they opened a new account for me and arranged for the old account to have its 'money etc' transferred over............ they also sorted out internet access and i can now see the end of the old account, the start of the new one as well as the mortgage account, dead easy !!

Shampers,
OK, many thanks. Will look into transferring the account to Camposol when we are over in a couple of weeks. Anyone specific to ask for?
Jim

Ok silly question time. Why do you need to transfer branch?
My account in the UK is in Stevenage, where I haven't lived for 30 years.
In Spain my CAM account is at Vera, only ever been there once. Have internet access and can do everything I want at any CAM branch. Also if I were to change branch I think I would wait until the banks at Oasis are open then go there, but at the moment I can see no reason to change.
Unless I'm missing something?

Simple answer
To get cq books, PIBs, internet access details you have to collect them in person.
Easier and cheaper (no petrol !) to transfer the account, got internet access straight away and i'll collect the cq books etc next time I'm out without the need to drive to PW Mar Menor.

Here's a really silly question has anyone used the cash machines, are they in english or do we have to press buttons and hope for the best, only used my card in the summer didn't withdraw any cash. Cheers Andy.

My account opened at PW Mar Menor at same time as mortgage arranged. They arranged debit cards and internet banking for me and assured me that it didn't really matter where 'your branch' is as you can get cah out and other services at any of their branches. This seems to be the case, as I have done a coupke of withdrawals etc. So I guess once you have collected your cards and cheque books, which is probably a one off, it shouldn't really matter where 'your branch' is.
Do correct me if I'm wrong - everyone else does!
Also beware of using other banks machines. I was going to use one at Ikea and one at Camposol (I think Santander), and just before the transaction was completed it warned me that they were going to charge me a fee.
In England I am used to using my debit card at pretty much any bank without charges but apparently not the same in Spain.
